“Kitchen Cabinet” Would Be President’s Punniest Group Of Advisors

Alice Waters, Ruth Reichl, and Danny Meyer have joined forces as a powerful food trifecta they hope will soon be known as the President-elect’s “kitchen cabinet” (get it??). The trio would carry out such duties as the vetting of potential White House chefs and planting a sustainable vegetable garden on the White House lawn. They hope their efforts, if successful, will promote greening around the country. “Waters is not alone in sensing that the newly elected, allegedly arugula-loving president is the perfect vehicle for national food reform. His switch to local, organic, seasonal food would lead the way in fighting America’s epidemic of obesity and diabetes stemming from processed food, chemicals and eating too much from the wrong end of the food chain.” The Waters-Reichl-Meyer letter was sent immediately upon Obama’s election in November, but just last week a group of 90 food activists (Waters included) signed another letter to the President-elect demanding all sorts of things of the next secretary of agriculture. But they don’t have a cheeky name for themselves, now do they?
