These Food Artists Need To Come Up With A New Angle Already
I’m indebted to Eat Me Daily for keeping up with contemporary food art. They seem to be aware of everything that’s going on, in every medium, with food art. My question is, why does it have to be disgusting? The same pseudo-profound “juxtapositions” that are just an excuse for shock value, the same nasty things done in chocolate, or meat art that “makes you think” — I mean, is this really the best that America’s food artists can come up with? I haven’t been this discouraged since I went to see Meat After Meat Joy and found it even dumber than the original. (Except for David Raymond’s haunting Chops, that is.) Still, if you want to see a picture of a blown-up suicide bomber in milk chocolate, the contemporary art scene will more than satisfy your needs.

I dunno, dude. The spleen-looking bit near the front looks kinda tasty.
