Johnnie Zs Waxes Bigger in the Public Eye; Now Bartending at PDT

Undisputed king of desserts Johnny Iuzzini has been all over the place lately: he has a new cookbook coming out, Dessert Fourplay, taking off from his signature practice of serving four desserts on a single theme, rather than the one a lesser man might offer; he’s doing his celebrity chef thing, demoing at the Bon Appetit Supper Club on the 30th; and, as Grub Street recently reported, planning on opening a bar with an unnamed “partner,” who we suspect might be molecular mixology guru Dave Arnold of the FCI.  Actually, forget suspect. It is Dave Arnold, with whom Iuzzini is also trying to get a TV show off the ground.  Meanwhile, if you don’t feel like reading about his exploits on his recently redesigned website (and high time, too!) you can get his stuff in the best bargain in restaurant history, the $28 lunch at Jean Georges. And if you want a preview of his bartending role, stop in to PDT on Sunday nights, where he’s staging under Jim Meehan.
